Sharpening Your Mind With Maths Revision

By Luke Redding

A lot of people think that some people are just naturally born with an instilled knowledge of maths. This is not really the case however some people will learn it easier than others. One thing that is for sure though is that if you want to be good at maths then you will have to do plenty of maths revision. Whether you are a quick learner or a slow one the maths revision will be a necessity.

So what is maths revision you ask? It is basically going over the maths problems that you had already been taught and doing them again. For example if you had just learned a new way of solving an algebra problem then you do it again and again. This will help it to sink in well into your mind in a way that you almost practically cannot really forget it.

The importance of maths revision is to sharpen our skills for the future. We have all seen that maths is what makes this world go round so to speak. If we do not want to fall behind in the day to day activities of this society we will have to be sharp at maths. It is like the easiest stepping stone in making it in this world where everything is ruled by all these calculated steps that we must take.

Why is so much maths revision a part of being a good mathematician? Well, maths is not like any other subject that you can think of. Once you are taught the meaning of an English word and its context you do not have to revise it constantly. With maths every new principle on the other hand has to be re-done and re-done until it becomes one with your brain.

With the aid of maths revision comes even yet another advantage. You see what sets all of us apart in this world is how we do things. It is no longer just a matter of knowing how to do them. For example we may all be able to get a sum right but in an examination we are under time pressure. Those who are able to do the most in the allocated time have the upper hand. Maths revision will help you raise your problem solving speeds to get this upper hand.

If you want the best results out of your maths revision exercises then you are better off not doing it alone. Doing revision alone can have you trying to figure out one small equation by yourself for two days. With the help of a friend you may learn how to do it in five minutes and move on to the next one.

The internet is fully loaded with tools you can use to make sound maths revision. Some will even be in the form of new techniques like maybe having the maths incorporated into an exciting game. With new technology comes new methods of doing things and this can be put into maths revision too. What method you will choose will all be up to your individuality.

So to save you a lot of unnecessary troubles in the future do your maths revision exercises. They will help you become a proper mathematician no matter into what field of life you will find yourself going into. - 30224
