Why You Need Speed Reading

By Jay Polmar

People sometimes get frustrated because they fall behind when reading and learning due to the huge amounts of reading material they must learn for school or work. So many books are being written worldwide, that readers sometimes have difficulty keeping up with the production of fiction and non-fiction works. It can be really amazing trying to keep up with it all " don't you think.

In the speedily changing and highly competitive business world, with new products and services, and new upgrades introduced every week, speed reading really comes in handy. Most corporate millionaires now read two or three business related books every week. That's a lot of work for those unfortunates who dont have speed reading abilities.

SPEED READING enables people to absorb up to twice or three times what they normally read in the same time.

Reading researchers in the past determined that the brain is capable of comprehending and cataloguing from 10,000 to 50,000 units of information every minute. The length of a unit is about one word. The bodys five senses are receptors for data, which it transfers to the subconscious mind to be recorded for posterity. When the conscious mind needs information, it is recalled from the subconscious. Then it surfaces the necessary data for processing and use, much like a computer.

An interactivity exists between the brain, which well just imagine that the computer CPU, and the mind which consists of thoughts and memories. All data gets processed in such a way that we can learn it.

The information that we get, process and evaluate comes from our five physical senses. With that data, our mind makes decisions, choices and judgments. We learn through our five senses (i.e. sight, smell, hearing, touch, taste), which are already preprogrammed to respond automatically.

A good example of preprogrammed response: Consider the example of the teen boy who smells pizza and what his reaction is. It is similar to Pavlov's dog, because his senses send a message to the brain in the form of a thought.

The perception of feeling our favorite food is a mental exercise, compared to the reaction of swallowing which is physical. Therefore, brain and mind is where the action is and the body is where the reaction is.

Learning this system of speed reading will encourage the use of three of the five senses. That is a method that will strongly influence your mind to remember, recall and understand; beyond that, well teach you techniques for becoming a better and more efficient reader.

Follow the instructions and you will turn into a speed reader who loves to read and improve the quality of his or her own life. We expect great, positive successes from you with great improvements in many areas of your life.

Statistics: The average American high school graduate (I know this sounds strange, but many are graduating without the ability to read at an eighth grade level), reads at about 200 words per minute. A college student reads 20% faster at 300 words per minute. It does not matter what your baseline or beginning reading speed is, your potential reading speed after using these methods will be faster and your potential is truly unlimited. This is because scientists who have researched the human brain/mind agree that our potential is unlimited. Double-triple-quadruple your reading speed, there's no limit.

You can expect to learn how to get your greatest potentials as a reader, business person, student, etc. This is because you're becoming an avid speed reader and a complete success in life.

Be Dynamic Through Speed Reading will help you become totally unlimited in your power and ability to do, be, and have all that you want in life, whether its great grades or financial success. Dr. Jay Polmar is the Master of the art of speed learning, accelerated learning and speed reading and has helped over 100,000 students worldwide become perfect learning machines. - 30224

Why School Children Have A Lack Of Sleep

By Kelly Mayberry

While it is important that everyone get the right amount of sleep, it is more important in school-aged children. Regardless of what adults might do with their limited sleep, it is paramount that children get 10 or more hours of sleep. Lack of this will limit the development of children in a crucial way. Not being able to fall asleep, mid-night wake-ups, nightmares and bad dreams, and sleep-walking of some of the difficulties these children experience.

There are a few warning signs to pay attention to when children aren't getting enough sleep. Are they constantly getting up and out of bed? They can have a short attention span or may be irritable during the day. You can notice these signs by how they behave with other students, if they constantly get in fights with other students or show a lack of attention during class then they might not have gotten their allotted 10 hours for the night. There are a few things you can do to maintain a good sleep schedule.

Take a look around the bedroom to make sure that it is not too hot or cold. Make sure they have a night light if they are frightened by nightmares. If you have a nightlight make sure it is not too bright. It's tough to sleep when you have what seems to be a lighthouse inside your room. It's best if there are no distractions such as a TV or video games in the room. It's very easy for children to get distracted and start watching a DVD or playing Xbox.

Children will more than likely go to sleep when they are tired. Physical activities, play, sports and recreation will usual drain kids energy; while keeping them physically active. Although, make sure they are not pushed to the extent where they feel pressured. To insure that the television programs are not scaring your child, make it a point to watch television with them. Opposed to adults, our children can not tell what is real life, from fiction. Many adults and parents regularly watch the nightly news, but make sure your kids do not experience the stories that are usually displayed.

If you notice your child have sleep problems then you should discuss with them what it is that is bother them. A little dialogue will help assuage their worries and allow them to enjoy their restful nights sleep. Remember you were a kid once and you had problems sleeping, what did you parents do for you to help with those problems? - 30224

Happiness, Learning To Breath

By Jamie Brown

This day in age, people are turning to religion in droves. Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism has embedded it's ideology in the hearts and minds of millions globally. While all these religions deserve respect and tolerance, few in the west have a grasp on the complicated concept of Buddhism.

The end all and be all of online encyclopedias, Wikipedia grabs the first slot on a Google search for the term Buddhism and the breakdown reads like this: "Buddhism is a religion and a philosophy encompassing a variety of traditions, beliefs and practices, largely based on teachings attributed to Siddhartha Gautama, commonly known as the Buddha (Pali/Sanskrit "the awakened one"). The Buddha lived and taught in the northeastern Indian subcontinent sometime between the 6th and 4th centuries BCE.

He is recognized by adherents as an awakened teacher who shared his insights to help sentient beings end suffering, achieve nirvana, and escape what is seen as a cycle of suffering and rebirth. Buddhism is traditionally conceived as a path of liberation attained through insight into the ultimate nature of reality. Two major branches of Buddhism are recognized: Theravada ("The School of the Elders") and Mahayana ("The Great Vehicle"). Theravada, the oldest surviving branch, has a widespread following in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia, and Mahayana is found throughout East Asia and includes the traditions of Pure Land, Zen, Nichiren Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Shingon, Tendai and Shinnyo-en. In some classifications, a third branch, Vajrayana, is recognized, although many see this as an offshoot of the Mahayana. While Buddhism remains most popular within Asia, both branches are now found throughout the world.

Various sources put the number of Buddhists in the world at between 230 million and 500 million." After living abroad in Asia for several years I have found that Buddhist cultures are more tolerant because the focus is on the 'self' and the meditation on the calming of the mind, concentrating on controlled breathing and the idea that meditation to bring one closer to peace is central to discovering one's self.

If you have the opportunity to investigate the practice of Buddhism, I would highly recommend it. I'm not saying to take up the path and convert to a religion but the calming affect that is central to this religions concept will bring a peaceful serenity to your life that you may find useful. All in all respect and tolerance for all religious perspectives is something that people are beginning to make a conscious effort to practice and understanding ideas from various religions can teach us an appreciation that can bring us all closer together. - 30224

Will A Professional Wedding Band Make A Difference?

By Lee Collings

As you might have already figured out, planning a wedding is a huge undertaking. There are many different details and plans that have to be worked out and it can get a little hectic at times. One important part of the planning process that you do not want to slack on is the reception and the music that will be the entertainment for your guests.

There are different ways to bring music into your reception but the two most common ways would be to use a DJ or a wedding band. The wedding band is usually the more popular choice between the two and it is something that you will want to give a lot of thought.

The first thing that you should do when you are looking for a wedding band is to try to catch them performing. In general most bands typically have public gigs outside of private events so check with them on these so that you can try to take in a performance. Additionally, you may also want to ask them if they have a demo CD or preferably a video for you to take a look at. This will give you an idea of whether this band is a good fit for your wedding reception.

If the band has a website, you will want to make sure to check it out as it will provide you with a lot of the information you need. There are generally photos, musical tracks, and videos to review, all of which will give you a clear understanding of how professional the band is.

You might luck out even further and find some testimonials on their website. This will clue you in as to how well their previous customers enjoyed their music and performance. If you happen to stumble on the bands repertoire, make sure that you are taking a look at that as well.

You will want to make sure that you are hiring a band that will appeal to the majority of the people at your reception. Try to figure out the average age of your guests and you can use that information to select just the right wedding band.

Of course the price of hiring your wedding band is a big part of the decision making process. Be sure that you have had that conversation with the band manager, and once you have ironed out the pricing be sure that it is outlined within your contract. It is also very standard that you will need to put in a non refundable deposit when you submit your contract so that the date of your event can be secured.

Prior to the wedding date, you will want to call the band to go over any last minute details and to make sure that they are allowing themselves enough time to properly set everything up. Also, make sure that they are wearing a wardrobe that is suitable for your wedding.

Remember that the band is likely to have travelled a long way to play at your event so it is only common curtesy to ensure that you provide them with a meal. Lastly, be sure that you give your wedding band a timeline of events for the evening so they are able to work with the flow of the event. - 30224

But what of you asked the Mother you where not taken from me by a terrible person it was an accident why did the Lord take you from me. The Child smiled at her Mother and spoke Mother what you see as the most terrible thing ever is not. For I am in the Kingdom of the Lord and there is no greater reward then that ! My life on Earth was short Mother, I agree with you on that but Mother let me let you in on a little secret "All life on Earth is short" It is just a blink of the eye to the Father. Miss me Mother for I know you always will, But have faith in the Father for if you believe in him and follow his words you will be with me again one day and then you will feel no pain or sorrow ever again. The Mother reached down picked up her child closing her eyes and hugging the child to her bosom, She heard a voice that was not her Daughters say "I will always Love you my Child"

The woman opened her eyes and she saw lights and heard sirens and the voices of many people. Not sure what was going on she looked down at her child only to see that she was not holding her child but a small young boy. The Woman who she had seen screaming was grabbing for this child saying Thank you oh thank you Lord for sending this Woman to rescue my Child ,In my heart Lord I always knew you would save him, for surely you would never allow something so terrible to happen !!!!

First day With The Dynamics Of Speed Reading

By Dr. Jay Polmar

Be Dynamic Through Speed Reading method, by Dr. Jay Polmar, is designed for those who read large volumes of printed material. Sometimes they get frustrated when they can't keep up with all the intriguing literature that is released. Authors around the world produce printed data and fiction, at a rate so phenomenal, that even the most avid of readers struggle to keep up. With our DYNAMIC SPEED READING method, you'll easily be able to read twice to three times the amount you now read in the same time.

The human brain/mind is capable of comprehending and cataloging from 10,000 to 50,000 units of information per minute (one unit being equal to one word) and this is based upon old statistics. Based on new technology in education and strides in self-development, your brain/mind is capable of much more.

The human body is a vehicle that records various senses and transfers them to our brain/mind. The brain/mind acts like a computer. Perhaps the brain/mind is the body's operational computer to make easier for us to learn. We learn through information (data) which is transmitted in many ways. We receive data through our five physical senses, and our brain/mind makes decisions, choices and judgments from those factors.

Our limitations in reading were programmed during childhood when we were first taught to read. Yet, brain/mind researchers have shown that through DYNAMIC SPEED READING method, thousands have broken that pattern and increased speeds dramatically.

This course teaches techniques for becoming Dynamic. We expect you, minimally, to become a speed reader who likes to read and improve the quality of your life. Maximally, we expect great, positive successes from our students. A beginning average reading speed for the average American high school graduate is about 250 words per minute. Those from the south read somewhat slower because of their drawl. Those who stutter also read slower. An average college student reads approximately 300 w.p.m.

Please take note: Recent studies have indicated that the English reading rate has dropped due to poor education in the past decade. The reduction of reading speed is astounding averaging 35% poor reading rates in the US. Be Dynamic undoes the damage made by the poor education system and was developed by Dr. Jay Polmar, who studied in the US when education mean something special and reading was king. - 30224

Managing The Stress Of Parenthood

By Andrew John

When the child is born, the parents are happy - or to tell the truth, even more than happy. However, the child also brings a lot of additional worries for parents. Raising a child is a lot of fun, that's true, but it also brings a lot of responsibility, often more than the parents got used to handle. At that time stress is born - and it can last for years or even our entire life unless we decide to do something about it.

First, remember that you should be calm. In situations where you can't keep yourself together much longer, just walk away and take a few deep breaths. How can you know that the time is right? It's simple: if you clench your fists and hear your voice rising, the stress attack is on the way. A few minutes more and you will lose your temper unless you go away. Remember that screaming will not do any good, even for you. If you have to scream, do it alone.

Do not let problems remain unsolved. Always find their sources and solve them as soon as possible. If your children defy the rules you set, discuss the problem with them instead of forcing your ideas all along. Most kids will agree with what you say if your arguments are good enough. However, even if you feel that the discussion won't end peacefully, never let the situation go out of hand - otherwise you will feel extremely stressed, angry and depressed every time it happens again.

Control what's going on. Always. You do not have to interfere, but you have to be sure that your family runs according to the rules set by adults. If this seems to be in danger, react. It is not about controlling your kids on every step, it is more about making sure they know the rules and they follow them. Never ever let your children defy your rules. If they try to do so, don't waste your time on shouting. Just make sure that they can't break the rules. Use whatever means necessary to avoid such situation - fortunately a heart-to-heart discussion is enough.

Even the least important sources of stress can change your situation from happiness to horror and ruin your health in a matter of a few years. Here's how to avoid it: make sure that the situation in your family remains under control, your children know about the rules and the reasons for following them, you never get angry in front of children and you discuss problems with them rather than solve them singlehandedly. - 30224

Facial Spa: A Fun Solution For Your Acne Problem

By Farrah Clinton

Acne troubles a lot of individuals irrespective of age. By definition, it is a skin condition that results from excess production of oil in the oil glands of the skin that is made visible through pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts.

For acne-troubled skin, a special care must be given so as not to aggravate the skin's condition. Although it's not the only solution, but a facial spa is always an effective choice.

The benefits of a facial spa are never a question. For one thing, we all desire the masterly hands of aestheticians from time to time to assist us in taking care of our skin the right way. Nevertheless, one should know that no facial could make same marvels to the skin to every patients. Be sure then of the facial spa that you're accepting.

Ask an acne expert. When getting a facial spa, always remember to consult first with an acne specialist about your skin condition. Don't let anyone attempt to give you a treatment without deep knowledge on acne. Otherwise, it would only aggravate the situation.

Acne-friendly products only. Acne treatments should be able to help a patient get rid of possible scarring, deal with inflamed areas, and reduce the formation of pimples and/or blackheads and whiteheads. However, all these should be united with the right products. And normally, they come with hefty price tags as they're specially formulated for acne. You should be wary about receiving a facial spa at a very low price because the products applied might cause more damage than solution to your stressed skin. Always ask a salon if they have acne-friendly products before getting a facial spa. Inquire about the products and do a research.

Clear-cut results. While getting a facial spa can relieve your skin condition, there is no guarantee that it could thoroughly clear your skin. Apparently, it depends on particular factors like how often you take the treatment, how bad is your skin condition, and even the skills of the aesthetician. - 30224

Overview Of The Playmobil Castle

By Chris Frost

Playing with toys stimulates learning and imagination in children of any age. Sometimes when searching for toys that have a history of increasing these abilities one looks to a toy like the playmobil castle.

Since the 1970's playmobil's German-based plant has been generating the playmobile castle series to ignite the creativity of young minds with the use of various authentic themed structures. Whether a child's interest is in dragons, eagles, magic, or knights there is a castle theme that is perfect for them.

Most of the castles contain a minimum of two hundred fifty pieces. There are many elements to the castle beside the characters. On will find carriages, carts, chariots, bridges, and catapults that work. Each element in the castle can be moved to a different location easily.

The best part of the playmobil castle is that the structure can be up and ready to play within about 15 minutes. It weighs enough and is large enough for those in the younger range to have difficulty moving it, but for older children and adults it can be brought out and put away with ease. Although it comes in pieces, many choose to glue it together to make a permanent fixture in a child's playroom.

As with all playmobil products, there is a purpose behind the design. The company believes that if a child puts something together by themselves they will better understand how things work. This is especially true for the playmobile castle where not only is everything put together by the child, but it contains working parts as well.

The working parts in the playmobil castle work just as larger toys do. Not only do children learn while putting things together, they also come to understand better as parts are deconstructed. Whether they are learning about the pulley system of the draw bridge or the axle system of the chariots, by working with the construction and deconstruction process they are able to learn about the working of parts that are hard to learn any other way.

A book is included with each castle that discussion the history or era that the castle represents. Parents are given tips and techniques for including education about history into their child's play activities. Discussion items are included to create dialogue about the history of the castle and how the people of that time lived.

Playmobil castles have been around for many years and are made from durable plastic. As a result, it is not uncommon for them to survive childhood in order to be passed down in the family for generations to come. When thinking about how to motivate young learners, a playmobile castle should be one of the considerations made and an expert is available in prominent toy stores that who can answer any questions parents may have. - 30224

Creative Potty Training Ideas

By Paul J James

Many parents approach potty training with the same enthusiasm they would have for gum surgery; it's a necessary evil to be tolerated. It doesn't have to be all drudgery though if you use a little creativity to make it interesting for everyone.

Should You Get Creative?

Certainly, if you are already in the potty training process and things aren't going especially well, getting creative is better than getting frustrated. You don't have to wait until you're at that point though. Using some creative ideas to introduce the potty training concept to your child can prevent resistance.

Introduce the Idea

If potty training is your child's idea the entire process becomes easier. A few thoughtfully planted comments about big kids using the potty and little kids wearing diapers can spark your child's desire to be one of the big kids and have him asking you to help him learn to use the potty.

Creating Ownership

Let your child be part of the potty training planning process. Take him shopping with you and let him choose his own big boy underwear and stickers to use on his potty training success chart if you use one.

Rewarding Success

Some parents are reluctant to give rewards for potty training success because they feel the child is only doing what he's supposed to do anyway. Others have great success with potty training charts where a child places a sticker each time he uses the potty with a small reward being earned for every few stickers. Rewarding children for good behavior reinforces the behavior.

Rewards don't have to be candy or snacks and are better if they aren't. A trip to the park, an extra story at bedtime, special recognition for an accident-free day all work to motivate the child to do well again.

Parents are always on the look-out for tools to help make potty training easier. One of the tools available is the potty training doll.

The Concept

Dolls that wet have been around for ages. The doll "drinks" a bottle of water and then wets into a diaper. The potty training doll is the same concept only it's designed to "wet" when it's held upright over a potty chair or toilet.

The theory is, if the child sees the doll using the potty, she will get the idea and use the potty herself. There isn't any hard and fast research either way on the effectiveness of the dolls in potty training a child.

Worth a Try!

If the price of the doll is within your budget and you feel your child will respond positively to it, by all means give it a try. If, for some reason, your child doesn't like it or is frightened by it, don't use it again.

Anything that makes potty training easier should be explored and used if your child responds favorably to it.

The Versatile Bean Bags Chairs

By Chris Frost

Bean Bags chairs have been around for many decades now. There popularity first cropped up in the sixties, and seventies. It resumed in the early nineties, when companies started using more comfortable, and more expensive materials.

These versatile pieces of furniture have found favoritism in homes with small children, and in college dormitories. They are also found in in households prone to frequent large gatherings as they are easy to move around and store.

Bean bags chairs were made at first, out of pellets made of PVC and fabric. More recently, what the pellets are made of have changed, and raised the cost. They are now made of either polyurethane or micro-beads. Though cheaper ones are still available, the high end variety is more desirable.

The chairs started a trend in comfort when it comes to other things too. Not just the chairs themselves. Bedding and furniture are now made with the same type stuffing that is used in bean bag chairs. These items are sometimes called bean bag chair extensions. Even the family cat or dog can their own bean bag chair bed to sleep in. The possibilities are endless.

Production of the chairs is very simple. The polystyrene bead is usually in the form of sugar, which is then steam blown to expand it. Then it is stuffed into the fabric that is the bag. This material is also known as expanded polystyrene or EPS.

Sizes of the beads used to fill the bags vary, and depend on the material being used to stuff. A standard bead measure at three to nine millimeters. Alternately, you can buy micro-bead material for more comfort. That measure about one to three millimeters in diameter.

Many things that are stuffed eventually became flat and unsightly. Bean bag chairs are no exception to the rule. But chair lovers don't have to worry. Bags of stuffing refill are fairly inexpensive, and are easy to obtain. You can keep your comfortable chair lively for years. You can't do that so easily with a futon or couch!

Fans of the Bean bags chairs all have their names for them. Some call them Atomic Sac, physics bag or other creative names. Now over four decades old, this priceless piece of comfort is on it's way back in trend. It's used as soft napping place, or a gaming chair in some cases. No matter how it's used, one thing is for sure: The bean bags chairs is not going anywhere. - 30224

Starting a Daycare - Start-Up Costs

By Sienna Brown

If you are to enter the child care industry you will require start up funds to get your business off the ground. Depending on the kind of daycare center that you are planning, these costs can run anywhere from a few thousand dollars to six figures.

In the article below we set out some of the important start up costs that you would have to budget for as you proceed to open your own child daycare facility.

1) Where to Run your Business - Many people these days choose to operate a daycare business from their own house or property and doing so can be convenient and save expenses associated with leased premises. You will still be up for renovating expenses as you make alterations to your home to get it ready.

2) Legal Requirements and Licensing - You will need to apply for a license and you will need to ensure that you comply with all the rules and regulations set out by your city regarding daycare centers.

3) Other things to Buy - To get your daycare business ready to receive children on a daily basis you will have to create a place that is attractive and friendly to children and parents alike. Create a budget for buying furniture, decorations, toys, games and other supplies.

4) Setting up an Office - You will have to set aside an area from which you can run the business side of your child care center. Start researching some of the costs related to setting up an office that can handle all your business administration needs while also serving as a meeting room.

5) Operating Costs - Some daycare center startup budgets also list operating expenses for the first two or three months of business when they work out startup costs. This is sensible as it may be several months before the business has revenue coming in to cover expenses.

6) Daycare Advertising - You will have to consider initial promotional expenses as you attempt to spread the word about your new business. You may have to commence your advertising efforts at least a few months before you open your doors so that you have some children attending when you open your doors for business.

It is important to show some restraint as you set up the daycare and to prevent set up expenses from getting completely out of control. However you also have to have spent enough by opening day that your premises are looking fully organized and professional with a set up that attracts families with children to your services. Carefully budgeting for your daycare business set up costs will go a long way towards determining your level of success in the first few months of your business life. - 30224

Buy The Correct Set Of Infant Bedding

By Barry Stolt

In terms of infant bedding that you can buy today, there are many different styles for many different applications. You can find solutions for your bassinet, crib, Moses basket, cradle, and even pack n play. No matter where your little one falls asleep you can find a quilt or blanket to keep them warm.

Probably the most important consideration when you begin looking is to get the bedding designed specifically what you are covering. It is not easy nor is it safe to put sheets on a crib that are designed for a larger toddler bed. The size is very important because you do not want it to come loose and entangle your baby while they are sleeping. By purchasing the right bedding you can avoid this type of accident.

Try to remember also that a newborn baby cannot roll over on their own. This can present a problem if the mattress is too soft as they can suffocate while they sleep. Buying a more firm mattress is a better idea but you still want it comfortable enough for them to get a good rest. This may take a little bit of experimentation to find just the right one.

The next thing to think about is the type of item you are trying to put the bedding on. If it is a bassinet, a crib, or cradle you need to find the correctly fitted sheets. It is very frustrating opening the new package only to find that the sheets don't really fit. Additionally, you need to make sure the bedding is the correct color to match the theme that you already have chosen for your child's room.

To get just the right decor in the room you can get accessories to match the bedding. Some of these might include pillowcases, curtains, wall stickers, and even paint. You also should think about getting an extra set of fitted sheets because babies will occasionally need them. Parents will learn this as their children get older.

All it takes is a little bit of looking around to locate the right infant bedding for your home. Remember not to purchase sheets that do not fit as this can be dangerous for your little one. It just is not worth saving a few dollars to buy the wrong set that may be on sale. And if you cannot find the right set try searching online as this will pull up many websites that sell them.

As is the case with other baby products, finding the proper bedding is the best way to proceed. If you try to make the wrong ones work you will just create more problems for yourself. With a little bit of research you won't have a hard time getting the perfect set both in terms of fitting and decor. - 30224

Video MP3 Players: Hidden Article You Have To Read!

By Jade Frankz

I know what you mean. There are so many choices to make to buy a unit how do you know which one to get? Well, regardless of the unit you do purchase you'll be in video and audio heaven regardless of your location since the units are so compact.

They come in all shapes and sizes along with a rainbow of colors and don't even get me started on all of the features available on the market. They can do everything you can think of!

Ok, lets cover some of the features now. There are Video MP3 Players that have only memory for the storage of the songs and there are also some players that only have hard drives to store the songs. Regardless of the one you get pay close attention to the amount of memory or hard drive storage it has.

To keep things simple, whichever one you decide on just understand they will perform pretty much the same. Meaning a unit with 1GB of storage for its hard drive is the same as a 1GB unit of memory.

Basically the bigger the memory / hard drive the more songs you can store on it. I suggest you get at least 4GB unit that will hold thousands of songs for you.

But of course there are much bigger sizes as well that range from 16GB to 80GB or 120GB for storage of your videos, music, photo's and more. If you are one who plans on having 10,000+ songs, thousands of videos, pictures and more then I am sure these units will serve you nicely.

I would hate to see anyone waste money by getting one that is more power then they will need. If your goal is to have less then 1000 songs and maybe watch some videos and have some pictures too then a 4GB size Video MP3 Player will be more suited for you.

But again, like I mentioned, if you must have ten's of thousands of MP3's, video's and photo's, images and other files at your fingertips then these much bigger units are for you. You will have to pay more for this privilege but it will be worth it to you I am sure. - 30224

Singling Out Top-notch Baby Nursery Bedding For The Room: Making The Cut Through The Research

By Dorothea Frankson

Moms and dads with prior children are well aware that the burdens of responsible parenting are routinely present well before a newborn's arrival. The nursery must be completely outfitted before your child arrives, which makes the task of putting it together stressful for new mothers and fathers.

Baby crib bedding is such a popular business the amount of choices are often more than overwhelming. Before beginning this research, many mothers and fathers decide that it is preferable to a study of maternal paintings rather than making a hasty purchase.

Cowboy crib bedding comes in an enormous variety of wonderful colors and materials that are easy to care for, not to mention attractive designs. Before starting to hunt for the motif that suits best for your daughter, spend some time to list the requirement her bedding should meet. To begin with, her bedding should come in regulation sizes, because that is more like to ensure her safety and take that concern off your mind.

You'll need to think about the environment in which your daughter will spend her first months, and that bedding is critical to her comfort. It goes without saying that parents who live in harsh climates will likely purchase cozy flannel bedding, while people in warm, humid areas in the south will most likely want breathable cotton.

Once you've determined which bedding will keep your daughter safe, you can begin to settle on a theme for your nursery's decor. Given the bountiful selection offered by the market this is a very enjoyable exercise, although most parents also find that settling on a single theme or pattern can be an excruciating process.

An easy method to help reduce the number of design possibilities is to consider your existing decor. People with traditional tastes are attracted towards beautiful vintage toilets or damask crib bedding. Honest reproductions of this print have become very popular for those who yearn to co-ordinate past and present with their daughter's colorful future. - 30224

Tight Jeans: Expert Fashion Tips.

By Stephanie Jerrets

Shopping for clothing can be very fun indeed. You waltz into the store with animated eyes and jump from one shelf to another like a kangaroo running from poachers. But once you're actually faced with the choice of buying something so many variables come into the frame. One particular case is that of tight jeans. Tight jeans are very sexy and a lot of people would like a pair or two before they die. But it's not as easy as having a clear intention. There are a number of things to be considered.

The perfect choice of tight jeans is all about being patient. Don't get into a store only to become carelessly impulsive because you're eager to wear something new. Take your time with jeans because a bad choice can end up chained to the wardrobe because you don't wear it at all. There are a lot of people who rush to buy certain jeans without considering important things. If the store doesn't have the right fit then wait if you have to.

Know your weight fluctuations intimately. Sometimes we gain weight during certain times of the year and are not able to fit into our favorite pair of tight jeans. So once you have your figure fluctuations calculated or diagnosed you then must proceed to buying the pair that will fit you no matter what time of the year it is. Even though this is tiring it is definitely worth it.

Be sure to make a versatile choice. Having a flexible pair of jeans you can wear anywhere is like having a dog you can take anywhere. Though the two might seem incomparable there is something to be learnt. Buy jeans you can wear with any blouse; pair of shoes or t-shirt so that you can always have a good combination of outfits. Consider what color clothes you have and make a choice based on that.

Stick to the brand of jeans that you're accustomed to wearing. Manufacturers of jeans use different methods so sizes are bound to fit differently. When you switch a brand you might not actually like it a few weeks down the line. But if you buy roughly the same type you're guaranteed of a consistency that gives peace of mind.

Watching one's weight is important when it comes to tight jeans. Any change in weight can have detrimental effects. Your jeans might end up being too small if you're not careful. Monitor your eating habits and always remember the pair of tight jeans back home that needs a perfect body for cohesion.

Tight jeans go down well with sex appeal. It would be a real waste if you didn't wear them with naughtiness. Wear tight jeans with equally fitting clothes to achieve the best result. - 30224

Kids Activities After School Can Fit Inside Your Budget

By Charlene Sim

Most of us grew up being able to participate in activities after school, such as choirs, sports teams and academic clubs. However, many after school programs go on the chopping block every year as schools contend with greater need and smaller educational resources. For families struggling to make ends meet, this may limit or take away altogether a child's activities outside of the classroom. Consequently, we're seeing more and more children unsupervised and at loose ends in the hours between finishing school and when their parents get home. In this article, we'll look at some cost efficient activities and community programs that will fill the gaps in your child's education.

A shaky economy doesn't negate the need for fun and educational activities after school, with sports being the most popular and expensive. Besides administration fees, parents have to pay for equipment, equipment maintenance, uniforms, transportation costs, and sometimes out of town accommodations. There are several ways to reduce these costs and make sports more affordable for your family. Start by shopping for equipment and supplies off season. Items like hockey gear are much cheaper in the warm months when they are discounted. Don't hesitate to buy used equipment like sticks, balls, skates and nets that are in good condition. You can score great equipment at 40-70% less than retail at second-hand stores that carry used sports equipment. You can also ask the team if they have used uniforms that you can purchase or rent. Don't let old equipment sit around the house either! Sell it through newspaper classified ads, online or at a consignment shop for cash or store credit. This is a great way to offset the cost of new equipment.

For music lovers, there are also many ways to reduce expenses. Rather than purchasing a new, high-priced instrument that your child may become bored with, think about leasing. Many retailers financially support school music programs by providing leases that you can pay for on a monthly basis. This pay-as-you-go method is perfect for a youngster who is learning an instrument for the first time. If you notice that they do not like it, you simply terminate the agreement. Many music and second-hand retailers also provide used sheet music and instruments at discounted rates.

Membership and tuition fees make up a sizable portion of the price of extra-curricular programs. If one-on-one instruction is too pricey for your household, then there are more affordable choices. Organizations including the Scouts, Little League, Boys & Girls Clubs, and the Y offer low-cost membership charges and activities.

If you are looking for activities after school for younger children, check out your local church, community center or library for play classes with small fees. Some offer kids crafts or other programs for free and they are fun and well supervised. For older kids, volunteering their time for a worthy charity or organization is an excellent option. Community run programs are always looking for volunteers and the activity looks great on college applications. - 30224

The Nerf Longshot Is No Longer Just A Kid's Toy Anymore

By Russell Masina

When you were a kid, you probably ran around your basement or backyard pretending to play war or some variation on that theme. Your guns might have been sticks, or carved wooden pieces. If you were young from the eighties onwards, you might have even had Nerf guns, brightly colored air guns that shot soft foam balls or darts. Most kids love this kind of action play, and most adults like that their kids are tired out after a day of outdoor adventure play. However, some of the air guns that are being released by Nerf today, while still designed for kids, are also finding a lot of use in the hands of adults. This is the case with the Nerf Longshot, want to find our more read on.

The kids who grew up with Nerf guns are now adults. Some of them like to go paint balling on the weekends, while others engage in more sophisticated mock war games.

However, for those guys who want to mess around at the cabin with their friends on guys' weekend, Nerf guns are a much cheaper and safer bet. They fire foam balls or darts using air pressure and springs.

Since they are designed to be safe for six year olds, there are very few ways in which you can hurt yourself with a Nerf gun. Of course, many guys are also tempted to modify their guns to make them shot farther or faster as well, but that's half the fun.

If you purchase a Longshot, for instance, there is some minor assembly required before you can use the gun. The bolt lever needs to be attached before it will work. However, if you don't attach the bolt lever right away, you can unscrew the gun to get access to its mechanical innards.

The power of the Longshot, what gives it the ability to shoot up to thirty five feet, is an inner spring. If you add another spring from, for example, a toilet paper holder, you can double or even trip your range. The scope on this gun helps with your accuracy at these far ranges.

If you want to use the Longshot in the heat of battle, you'll appreciate that it comes with two preloaded clips of ammo so that you don't have to worry about reloading your gun, a tedious process in many Nerf guns. Yes, the Nerf Longshot is a great toy for both adults and kids. - 30224

A New Parent's Guide To Shopping For Infant Clothes

By Leah Kawasaki

Shopping for baby clothing is no easy task - just ask any parent. If you're new to the parenting game you might be quite unprepared for the amount of money you actually need to spend on a newborn. You should try to save money by not over-spending on newborn clothing and only buy what the baby needs for the time being. Stay away from branded clothing as they're well over-priced and your infant is going to grow so fast that there's just no point in buying those types of garments - the money saved could be better spent on a nice baby crib for example, something which the baby can use for at least a few years. Having said that, do not go out and buy super-cheap clothing whereby the materials used are going to be harsh on your baby's delicate skin. Buy decent outfits that are comfortable as that is the first priority.

The trick to buying clothing for newborns is that you have to stay one step ahead of the game so your infant will always have something to wear, no matter what season it might be. Keep your eyes open while you're shopping and look for deals and bargains on children's wear. If you find quality clothing at a huge discount buy it but get the clothing a couple of sizes larger than required as your child will grow into it within a matter of months. While you're at it, look for soft mittens as these play an important role in keeping your baby's little hands warm as well as preventing her from scratching her delicate facial skin.

For newborn babies, you should try and purchase clothing that allow for quick removal. Try and find outfits that come with velcro straps or clip on buttons at the front or back. Most babies get a bit annoyed when you pull a shirt over their heads and will start crying, therefor these slip-ons are a really good idea. What's more, it also help you change his or her diapers a lot faster. Another tip is to not buy clothing that your baby will be able to wear 11 or 12 months down the road, even if it's an absolute bargain. You can never tell how big your infant might be by that time and it could end up being a really big waste of money.

Clothing for your infant should not only be comfortable but should also be safe. There have been many cases reported in the past whereby babies have choked on ornaments that have become loose or have fallen off the garment. It is advisable to avoid outfits that come with cute bits that are sewn on or hoods that might strangle your child. You will also want to avoid delicate infant clothing that cannot be machine washed as your baby can easily go through three or more clothing changes in a day, and it would make your laundry chores a lot more troublesome.

Over the past few years, baby clothing that is compromised of organic fabrics have been all the rave. As with all organic products, they come at a price and honestly it isn't worth it and your baby will do fine with just regular clothes. The only time you would need to buy organic baby outfits is if your child's skin is particularly sensitive to certain synthetic fabrics. - 30224

"Hooked on Phonics" offers unique manner for kids to learn the skill of reading in a most delicate manner, where the child does not feel any external pressure.

The child feels completely at ease with this style of learning procedure and that is why this is welcome and accepted by mainstream public. Both the infants below seven and school going children can take benefit of this system. The details are freely presented at the website of Hooked on Phonics and the package is very reasonably priced. - 30224

Remember the Scooter?

By Owen Jones

The Razor A scooter ... What does that expression make you think about? If you have kids, I'm certain that you're already aware of the Razor A scooter series, but they weren't about when we were children. However, the concept was, even though I forget the brand names from my childhood.

I adored my two-wheeled, kick-powered scooter when I was a kid. Mum and Dad had their car, my older siblings had their bicycles and I had my scooter. It didn't go very fast, but then, I didn't go very far either, but it was a vehicle, of sorts and it gave that feeling of freedom. I had my wheels and I was mobile!

Well, the modern equivalent of that scooter is the Razor A scooter series. And they really are modern too! They are a far cry from the simple scooters of years ago. The Razor A scooter series was introduced in the year 2000 and is sturdy, strong, collapsible and as safe as you can get.

The Razor A scooter series is sold in several guises to suit different age groups, requirements and wallets. For example, the Razor A scooter is meant for children of six years and older, while the Razor A2 scooter, the Razor A3 scooter and the Razor Pro scooter are intended for older, heavier, more demanding and more skilful riders. With prices beginning at around $25 none of them is over-priced.

The Razor A scooter series is made from aircraft-grade light aluminium and weighs in at only six pounds. That's light enough for any small child to be able to carry, if necessary, without risk of injury. It is also collapsible, which means that it is easy to carry under your arm, in the trunk of your car or on the bus. Storage is a doddle too.

The Razor A scooter series is height-adjustable too in that the handlebars can be elevated as your child grows up or if an older sibling wants a go. It also has a formidable braking system, which is obviously quite important as these scooters will easily reach speeds of five or six mph on the level and much more on an incline. Going down hill, that is.

The Razor A scooter range also has lesser and greater stable mates. The Razor Kiddie Kick is intended for children younger than six and has a third wheel for increased stability, although it is just as strong and long-lasting as the Razor A scooter series. The Razor A scooter range is intended for 'young-minded' people from the age of six. I use the words 'young-minded' because it is quite the rage now, to put one in the car and scooter the last mile or two into work or college. That mile or two every day will save you gas and give you more exercise over a long period of time. After all, it all adds up, doesn't it?

Then, for those who want a bit more, there are the Razor E100(S), Razor E200(S) and the Razor E300(S), which are electrically driven scooters. The (S) denotes that they have a seat fitted.

So, why not introduce your kid to the concept of travel with a Razor A scooter? Give your child the chance to look back on his or her youth in 20-30 years time and remember zooming about at three-five mph on a Razor A scooter. - 30224

Basic & Swarthy: The Ideal Variety For An Exceedingly Hot Baby Nursery

By Dorothea Frankson

Black baby bedding has suddenly become very popular and is an excellent way to create a dramatic decor for the nursery. Some standard colors, such as black, can be matched with virtually any other color. Depending on the contrast, it can produce a wide variety of moods ranging from subdued and elegant to energetic and whimsical.

Black themes can fit many home decors and can create a room which is quite traditional or very modern. Safety should always be the first priority when choosing furniture and other accessories.

Baby boy bedding is required to fit the crib's size and shape, this is because one's daughter may be in potential danger of being constricted within the normal sheets used for the bedding. Though a thicker bedding may appear to be more comfortable, but extra soft blankets and bumpers may press against their face to create choking hazard especially for the little ones as they are not strong enough to keep them away from their face.

Parents need to know that there are materials used in some baby bedding that can be harmful to a baby and should be avoided. It has been found that less trustworthy salesmen and producers refrain from listing the constituents of linens. If you are unable to find out what materials make up a product, your best bet is to keep looking.

Parents who choose black as the central color for their daughter's nursery mostly shop for a fully equipped toddler bedding set. Baby bedding sold in multi item groups help to keep the cost down and make it affordable for parents.

If you are considering using black baby bedding, you may want to think about coordinating either pink and black, or white and black together, each of these are very good options. Whatever may be your opinion, if you go for a black baby bedding you will not regret as you will get one that is safe for your baby as well as elegant and beautiful. Your daughter's retreat, in some respects, will prove to be a wonderful experience that proves delightful to all. - 30224

Toilet Training

By Dave Sam

Potty training can be tough on parents. While some toddlers are ready to try potty training, others are quite reluctant. You, the parent, are the best one to determine your child's abilities and readiness to start using the potty. Generally children are ready between the ages of two to three, but some kids do start a little earlier or later. There are a few things you can do to make the whole process easier for both you and your toddler.

Start practicing using the toilet around the age of two. Go out and purchase a small potty chair or a potty seat that fits over the regular sized toilet. If you are potty training a boy make it has a shield in front so they do not make a mess. Bring the potty chair into the room that your child spends most of their time in on a day or weekend when you have some free time. Let your child run around in just a shirt with their diaper off. If you have them in a diaper they will never get the idea that when they urinate it will run down their legs and make a mess.

Make sure you have a clear schedule for potty training. Don't try to potty train when there is a disruption to the regular schedule. Anything, such as holidays, family visiting, a new baby, etc... can interfere with your toddler's learning. The best time to attempt potty training is over a long weekend when you have several days free to dedicate to the process.

Once you are ready to work with your toddler, dedicate specific words to the process. Have a word for body parts and the urine and bowel movements. Avoid negative words such as naughty, so your child won't feel self conscious. Be matter of fact with your child, and consider purchasing books to help your child with the concept of potty training.

Some parents will use a child's action figure or a baby doll to demonstrate potty training. If you decide to do this, explain that the "baby is going pee pee in the potty", and you can even let the toy graduate from diapers to underwear.

Discuss with your child the advantages of being potty trained. Talk to them about not having diaper rashes anymore, not having to take time away from playing to have their diaper changed and the wonderful feeling of being clean and dry. Help them understand that potty training is an important stage of growing up.

Books or videos are good tools. By seeing other children successfully master potty training some toddlers will get a jump start to their training. There are a wide range of tools available to help you train your child, both online and in bookstores. Leave the appropriate books in the bathroom so your child can read while trying to go potty.

You might consider marking a "POTTY DAY" on your calendar. Use a bright pen or stickers, and talk about how exciting is will be to be able to start using the potty. Instead of creating stress, this creates anticipation in your child, and it makes potty training fun instead of miserable.

Does your son or daughter like to unroll the toliet paper? Try squashing the roll so that the cardboard roll inside is no longer round. This way, it will not unroll as quickly. Also, little ones who are potty training will not get too much paper per pull on the roll.

Expect potty training to take anywhere from several weeks up to month for a child to become fully potty trained. Don't get frustrated - just keep the process as fun and relaxed as possible and your child will learn how to use the potty! - 30224
