If you're looking to find out how to get rid of a pimple, this article is a must read! Picture the scene. It's the day of the prom, the hottest boy in school has asked to go with you, you're trembling with excitement, only to wake up with a disgusting pimple! If you're looking for a quick solution, then I'm going to show you the steps you need to take to get rid of it quick!

Some people, who claim to know how to get rid of a pimple, tell you to pick at it until it goes. Don't ever do this! If you try and pick at it, you'll only cause the pimple to become more inflamed, which will lead to increased redness, and look even worse!

Also, if you do pick and the zit bursts, you could be spreading the dirty, acne causing bacteria, to other areas of your face, which will leads to more spots! In the long run, excessive picking can leave scars, which nobody wants to see!

I learned how to get rid of a pimple quick by performing this next quick treatment! Every half an hour, apply a small ice pack to the pimple, and hold it there for a few minutes. This decreases the swelling around the affected area, and also reduces redness, so it won't stand out as much!

Use concealer, after all, that's what you bought it for! After several applications of the ice pack, apply a thin layer of concealer over the pimple. This should mask the zit from view, so your date won't get grossed out! Don't apply too much though, you don't want to be clogging up the pores in your skin.

Now a very important step to knowing how to get rid of a pimple. You absolutely must be cleansing your skin twice a day. No more no less. If you cleanse to excess, you'll only be drying out your skin, which could lead to skin irritation and itchiness. Don't, however, use normal bar soap to cleanse the face with, as these usually contain musch stronger chemicals which may irritate the skin further.

Use an anti bacterial soap, or, if possible, use a facewash. You see, acne is caused by excessive bacteria clogging up the pores of your face. This isn't usually caused by lack of cleanliness, rather a hormonal imbalance, often found in teens. To help your skin unclog the pores, make sure to keep the skin clean.

Now a little tip the my friend recommended me, before I knew how to get rid of a pimple. Apply a dab of toothpaste to the affected area, just before bedtime. For some reason, this seems to work on most occasions! - 30224
