What Will Happen If Teens Can't Get Jobs?

By Susan Potter

With the economy in such poor condition and people getting laid off everyday, the outlook for teen jobs this summer doesnt look very good. This comes at a time when more teens than ever will probably be looking for jobs as they need money for themselves and for their families.

Teens not only need jobs to make money but they also need jobs to keep them busy during the slow summer months. Teens who are employed at least part time are able to learn some new things as well as gain work experience all the while keeping out of trouble. If this summer turns out to be a bad one for jobs, many teens will have too much time on their hands and likely get into some trouble.

Right now, many adults are willing to take the low paying and low skilled jobs that are usually taken by teenagers. This is because many adults just cant find anything else and something is much better than no job at all. This will take away additional jobs that would have gone to teens if the economy were in better shape. This is an unfortunate circumstance but one we face nevertheless.

Teens can use the Internet for two money-making purposes. While there aren't many jobs for teen online, there are a few ways to pick up some extra spending cash. Filling out surveys is one of them and most teens should be able to do that and a few other things like it to make some extra cash.

The second thing they can use the Internet for is finding a real job. Employers now do much of their job searching through online job websites and teens can become familiar with them and get their resumes listed. There are many hourly jobs and part time jobs posted on the Internet, which is just what most teens are looking for. - 30224
