What Can You Do Together With Your Family?

By Frances Chan

When was the last time you have great fun with your family? Americans who are supporters of individualism seldom spend their time with their family. Family is always the most valuable thing in life, stand up and plan to have fun with your family.

Zoo is definitely my number-one-pick for family activities. Other than visiting animals, most zoos nowadays have rides that you can enjoy with your family. Bring your own snacks if you want to save some money. To add some fun, let your kids be the photographers for the day (buy a disposable camera if you don't want your kids to break your expensive digital one) and you might be surprised by how creative your kids can be.

Picnic itself is already an enjoyable family activity. After eating you can enjoy playing some games with the kids, or enjoy the view of the countryside with your sweetheart and watch your lovely kids running around having fun.

Visiting the nation's capital would be your choice if you want to go on a trip with your family. Learn more about the history by visiting historical sites. Immerse yourself into the world of history together with your family. History creates topics for you and your children.

Take your children to the park and enjoy a treasure hunt with them. Hide some items in different zones of the park and give some hints to your kids. Allow your kids to be in charge of how to find the treasure. You will see how your lovely kids become a capable leader through this game.

Create a video clip with your kids. Make your family the characters in the clip. You may talk about your family life in the clip, about yours interests or even to create a drama. Accompany you kids to write a script and create a mini-movie together.

Invite your family to spend some time participating in the garden work. Little kids had better plant the seeds. Older siblings are mature enough to mow the lawn and rake leaves. Finally, you can have a barbecue party and enjoy the beautiful world you have created.

Parents usually read to their little kids at bedtime. However, when their kids grow up, parents no longer read to them again. Actually, this action should be continued as it is a good way to cultivate their interest of literature. Have a reading night with the whole family at least once a week. You can choose a piece of literature or a lovely book together, and then take turns to read several pages. It's work even if your children are teenagers. - 30224
