Use Your Photos To Create A Photo Puzzle

By Colin Southwell

For the last few years photo puzzles have become increasingly popular and they are now one of the most popular ways for people to share photos with their family and friends.

Not only are various design and wording styles possible, but the overall quality of the finished product is now excellent. The photo jigsaw puzzle industry has developed immensely in order to meet the more unusual designs and ideas requested by customers.

Most people take hundreds of photos a year, but it's normal for them to copied on to a computer and then to rarely be looked at again. This really goes against the whole point of photos, which is to be looked at and enjoyed. Enter the personalized photo puzzle. From your favourite photos, you can create a personalized photo puzzle that becomes a work of art.

It's an ideal way to remember a special event, holiday or family get together, and can be kept for yourself or given to others as gift. It's something that everyone, regardless of age, would be happy to receive.

Though you can use just a single photo to create your jigsaw puzzle, it's better to be more imaginative. More and more people are creating composite images to create a photo collage rather than using a single photograph. There are two ways to create your own photo collage for making into a puzzle.

The low tech way is to choose half a dozen or so of your favourite photographs, print them off and scatter them across a larger cardboard sheet, or even the carpet in your living room. You can arrange them how you like; either nicely lined up or slightly overlapping at different angles. Once you are happy with the layout, take a photo of the design from directly above. Though it may sound very basic, the final result is just what you need..

For something a bit more advanced, you can use your computer to achieve the same effect with your digital images. You can do this by downloading a free graphics program from the internet. You might want to try out a piece of software from Google called 'Picasso' which is ideal for such a purpose as this.

Whichever way you opt for, take your final image and submit it to a photo puzzle making website. Within a week they'll have turned your image into a memorable and unique photo puzzle. - 30224
